Subject: Wide-ranging tastes & viewpoints is what art & the archive are all about,
and we've got 'em in these reviews. Personally, I think this is the first really terrific show of 1987. The spirit is high and the playing is sweet, if a touch rough at times. The Iko with the Dirty Dozen is just tremendous. Touch of Grey sounds like they just recorded it and want to try playing it differently, a classic case of post-studio remorse. Other than that, what a great set, both first and last! I wish we had an AUD.

Wow! Great sound quality on this one. Right up with the best of any show on the Archive. But holy sh*t what a mess that Iko is. I actually thought I had another show starting up on Realplayer or something. Other than that, this is well worth a download (I mean a listen) for the sound quality alone. Subwoofer REQUIRED. 5 star sound, 3 star performance. But I'd pay anything to be at the worst show they ever played instead of sitting through another Phil and Friends, Other Ones, or Dead show.

Decent show. Great sound from Mr. Miller. I agree with the reviewer below me on the 1 star review. If you don't like this era why do you listen?

Subject: Well, what are you doing here if this is sooo horrible
Don't ambush a page with only two reviews with a one star review if you don't like late 80s Dead. This might not be as great of a show on average is 88-90, but still a worthy listen, GREAT transfer and sound, with very few mistakes (minus Jerry's flub in the Brokedown encore) vocally or instrumentally heard.

If you think Jerr sounds burnt out here, listen to 1992 and lets talk again.

Unique setlist (Quinn The Eskimo Opener, Half-Step>Promised closer, loner Saint of Circumstance, Throwing Stones>Touch) and nice energy. Maybe somewhat of a warmup for later this month's stronger east coast tour. BUT still way worthy of download.

5 for great sound (bass and drums great mix)
3.5 for performance
solid 4 star

Don't shat upon these pages that MANY people use to gauge whether or not this is a worthy download if you dont like this time period.

Subject: great memories
I drove from LA alone, noone would go with me! so i had a spare ticket for the 2nd and 3rd show. i gave them away to 2 lucky people. i never forget their faces and i'll never forget those shows. the bar in the basement of the kaiser was cool. I had a smile on my face the whole way back to Los Angeles. Those were the days!
